Well it is your birthday today and seems so strange not to have our ritual phone call but you are always in our thoughts especially on your special day
Our love is with you always

I find it hard to take on board that I won't see or speak to Chris again. Our friendship goes back some 59 years when we met as 18 year olds in the History department at Birmingham University. So sad and upsetting but many happy memories of a wonderful and long lasting friend. I will miss her and so will many others

Vale Chris. This is one of my saddest losses. I didn't know Chris very well in our undergraduate days, but got to know her much better when I was a postgraduate student and she worked in the real world. The thing that brought us together in later years was our love of Normandy, especially Calvados (the region and its famous product). I had several research stints centred on Caen, while Chris bought a townhouse in Domfront. Chris was one of the most generous-hearted persons I knew, often organising reunions to coincide with my brief visits to the UK. I shall miss them and her immensely. Much love, John Fred
